RW Makeover #1: And she’s off!

Our first makeover candidate, Jennifer Applin, just got her first assignment from the Renegades. While she did a fantastic job convincing us she’s in dire need of a work-life makeover, we needed to her to give us a list of specific, tangible changes she’d like to make or see. For example, “I’d like to get more writing done during the week.” Pretty vague. But “I want to free up 10 hours in my insane schedule to focus on market research, querying, and following up with editors” gives our experts something they can sink their teeth into. We’re really eager to see what Jennifer comes up with, and we’re sure her requests will have you squealing, “Oh, me too! Me too!”

What I hope will happen is that you’ll feel free to follow along with Jennifer. You can let us know how you’re doing, or if a recommendation our expert gave works (or doesn’t work!) for you. Ask questions. Or feel free to give your own advice. Just remember that we’ve told our experts that they only have to focus on their one “client” — they won’t be able to comment on your own situation. However, we have plenty of blog readers here who will! ;-)

Jennifer is going to start blogging this week here at The Renegade Writer Blog. We’re excited that you’ll all get to meet her and hear about this experience in her own words. [db]

    Hi Diana,

If you don’t mind I have another question. Will editors accept the transmission of a signed contract by fax instead of snail mail? For instance, the magazine sends me a signed contract (by mail or fax), I sign it and fax it back to them. Is this legal in the USA at all?

    Thank you,
    Olga
