I too am a big fan of GTD and have implemented it on my Palm, in my life and in my work. But I was hoping for a better "trick" about setting an earlier deadline than the real deadline, since that doesn't work for me. I still know when the real deadline is and just telling myself to get the story done earlier won't fool me into doing so. At least it hasn't yet. Great Interview! Uncanny how you nailed my deadline behavior---and the way I pack for trips! I have been using GTD for over a year and the first thing I noticed was that my insomnia virtually evaporated. It seems I was working 24/7 (in my mind) and that's not compatible with getting a good night's sleep. I'd also like to plug David Allen's GTD plug-in for Microsoft Outlook. This tool singlehandedly allows me to slow down my world without missing a beat. I'm still not good at getting my inbox to zero--I consider anything under 100 a victory--but on the rare occasion I've pared my inbox down to zero I have felt free as a bird.
