We’re slobs! We decided that in 2009, we’re going to clean up our freelancing lives, and that starts with our offices. We’ll start by showing you photos of what we’re dealing with (believe us, it’s scary) and we’ll take you along on our adventure. My goal is to have my office cleaned up by the end of January; my messy, disorganized office is taking its toll on my income-producing abilities, as well as morale. Alison’s doing a bit of travel in early 2009, so I’m not sure what her goal is.

So tune in January 1st for our first installment. If you’ve got a messy, disorganized work space, we’d love it if you’d join in. Send us your pictures, stories and updates to share with the world. Come on, let’s make 2009 a cleaner, nicer place to work. [db]

    Oh…I’m doing the same thing. I’ve already started making diagrams & deciding what I need to purchase. It’s sad to hate the one room you spend the most time in. Looking forward to your progress!

    Me, too! Me, too! My desk is currently a mess of work-related, hobby-related and holiday-related stuff, my bookshelves are cluttered, and the closet is – well, I’ll send a photo so you can see. And my filing system – argh. It’s scattered between three file drawers and several boxes. I had tried implementing a new system, but used the demise of my shredder as an excuse to stop.

    I’m not sure I’m brave enough to post a pic of my desk. Seriously, you might call the health inspectors or something…um.

    Maybe I will. Lord knows I can do with some incentive to dig out the filing cabinet and clean up my work space. It can’t get any worse. The last few things I put on my desk slid off to the floor.!

    That is wonderful! I just spent the whole of the day doing the same thing. Although my “office” consists of a computer on the kitchen table. But I feel so much better!
    BTW – got your book for xmas and finished it by the day after – I feel SO inspired to get going on the career that I know is for me. Thanks so much for your words.
