Fabulous Q&A with RW instructor Alison Stein Wellner

Jenny Cromie over at the Golden Pencil featured our own RW travel writing instructor Alison Stein Wellner last week in her Successful Freelancer Spotlight. Yay Alison!

I’ve pasted this quote from Alison in my motivation file: “My advice is, as much as possible, to forget all about this economic environment. I agree that it is scary times, but there are writers that are still getting work and there’s just no reason why you can’t be one of them. Step up your querying efforts, keep those queries out there, don’t let them molder in your computer where they can’t possibly do you any good.”

She’s absolutely right. Read the whole Q&A at The Golden Pencil. And don’t forget — Alison’s travel writing workshop starts this Monday, so sign up today! [db]

Right on! That’s what I’ve been telling myself as I start up my freelancing business right now. I’ve even interviewed for a few contract writing positions because I’m quite unhappy in my current full-time job. I know it’s a bit of a tougher road, but definitely NOT impossible. As Alison says, you just have to step up your efforts and market, market, market. Excellent motivation, thanks!
