I remember you telling me your first clip was a book review. I had no idea it was so detailed. My first clip was in a paying personal essay column in my local paper. It was on overcoming the fear of public speaking and I photocopied my check as well. I also was published in Absolute Write, Heiddi, but was paid with her book rather than money, which was more important to me. I made a copy of the check. lol I was so excited about it that I shared the news with everyone I knew. I was now a paid and published writer. It's a very exciting time in a writer's life when he or she is published for the first time. :) Thanks for sharing it.
