Opportunity for Romance Writers: Adams Media Seeking Submissions for new E-book Line
My good buddy Jennifer Lawler was asked to launch and manage Adams Media’s new line of romance e-books.
Jennifer is looking for romantic suspense, contemporary, paranormal, historical, and erotic romance — full-length (around 60-80K) plus shorts and novellas.
If you have a manuscript you’d like to pitch, you can send your pitch letter (no attachments, please) to jennifer@jenniferlawler.com.
Good luck! [lf]

I submitted a query letter and was asked to send along my manuscript!
(She said I “certainly caught [her] attention!” Woo!)
However, after that, I’ve heard nothing… I sent it over the same day this post went up. Is that normal?
I’ve never really done something like this before, so I’m a little nervous and extremely self-conscious. I’m sorely tempted to give her a little nudge, but I also don’t want to be rude! What’s the proper etiquette?
I thought there might be an article regarding this somewhere on the site, but I must be searching the wrong keywords.
Help?
Congrats, Lauren!
I would give it a month or so and then send a polite follow-up e-mail. It can take a while to read a manuscript, especially when you have a pile of them. And Jennifer is a friend of mine and I know she’s supremely busy — but also very responsive. Good luck and let us know what happens!
I got an e-mail back!
It was an incredibly polite rejection letter. But she thought I was a good writer and that I should keep trying to “find a home” for my erotica.
I’m happy I tried.
And it made things easier that she was so nice. I’m honored she took the time to read it at all. I hope that she can find a manuscript that’s more of a perfect fit! (Admittedly, mine was a bit unusual!)
Thanks for your help!!

Aww, too bad it didn’t work out…but congrats on the compliments from Jennifer! I hope you find a home for your piece soon.
