This resource list is a work-in-progress. I’ll be updating it as I go along. Enjoy!

Books: – When you can’t wait for the American edition – When you have patience for the American edition

Anglophile Books International Bookfinders — Nice selection of nonfiction, children’s books, memoir, and English novels. Will also search down hard-to-find titles. Based in California.

British Delights — Based in Westford, MA, this online shop specializes in all foods British. There’s a retail shop if you’re in the neighborhood. You’ll find almost everything here, including hard-to-find items like rolled icing, Fairy Liquid, and Persil.

Stop & Shop — Don’t laugh; the Stop & Shop supermarkets around here actually have English food sections in the International aisle. (Sometimes they mark the section “Irish food” and stock things like Bewley’s tea and McCann’s oatmeal, but most products are English. I guess if they called it “English Food” it would piss off the mobs of Boston Irish.) If you have a significant British expatriate population, your local grocery chain may have a similar section. In our Stop & Shop, I can get everything from Hobnobs and PG Tips, as well as wine gums, mushy peas, and salad cream.

Best of British – I love this shop in downtown Newburyport, Massachusetts. It’s stocked with everything from teas and tea cozies, to green wellies and oilcloth jackets. The owners are very nice, too. They don’t have a website, but you can read about them on Yelp, visit at 22 State Street, Newburyport, MA 01950 or call (978) 465-6976.

Bridgham & Cook – Whenever I get up to Freeport, Maine, (LL Bean country) one of the first places I stop is this shop in the center of town. It’s always a great place to grab stocking stuffers for the Anglophiles on your Christmas list, or at the very least, stock up on Tiptree jams.

The Royal Family:

I’m not really into the comings and goings of the British royal family (although I’d wake up at 4:30 a.m. to watch Prince William marry), but since I get a lot of hits from people looking for royalty news, here are some links:
